Adrian Hinds can you please tell me a little about this democracy and in particular the American system of which you are so proud.
In this present credit/finance crisis why is it the poor taxpayers who are losing their homes and jobs while fat cats keep getting massive bonuses and when their mistakes are exposed for all to see we then hear that the state should save their bacon. Some capitalism indeed, they take the profits while the state pick up the risks and the losses. This is a strange kind of Regeanomics programme being run here. Where are all the monetarist economists like Owen and Mascoll? These damn fools are bare jokers. Why our intellectuals and economists are now runnimng for cover by their silence. Is this the system of development we in Barbados are supposed to aspire to. I just hope that they do not ever ask the Barbados government to prop up any of our banks.If they are true disciples of the free market and they pledge allegiance to the Chicago school of economics, then unsuccessive, inefficient, and crooked firms should be run out of town and go to the wall. The true market forces have their own built in methods of correction. Poorly run firms should and must die.
Adrian just one more fraud the American system is prepared to push down the throats of fools that places like Cave Hill produce, mere apes aping their masters. Lets hear your views Adrian and even Yardbroom comments

We don’t want to repeat our arguments on the inexperience issue.

We agree that Obama like Palin is inexperience when compared to others before him. The point is Obama has been on the campaign trail, talk shows, written books, and has had to engage the public media over the last 2 years to demonstrate his knowledge. The US public will have no such luxury.

Sarah Palin and Barack Obama are both inexperience, so goes the argument. I have added that Barack as none and Sarah has a little…..Cannot be refuted.

Obamanites have said that it is OK that their candidate surrounds himself with wise experience council (Biden and 300 strong foreign policy advisers) to that effect.
Sarah Palin who is on a presidential ticket as VP is being caste as not experience enough to be president and the hypothetical of a President McCain dying and she ascending to the Presidency is the fear that we all must be concern with. No fear of inexperience Barack who is running for President but fear for little experience Sarah who MIGHT become the President. Is this the kind of NONSENSE that is as highlighted as nuance? :)

I am surprised that the 17 year old unwed daughter’s pregnancy is not an issue. I am sure if one of Senator Obama’s daughters was 17 year old and pregnant and unwed they would have made it an issue, and lambase the entire African race. But it look to me like the white man running scared that is why they turning a blind eye to this situation. Of course she does not believe in abortion for rape victims, andI ama sure that is more true for white women, since the white population is shrinking faster than I can say Barbados.

I was just reading an article from an Alaskan newspaper. It states that Sarah Palin knows that rape is increasing yearly in Alaska, yet see turns a blind eye to it. In fact Alaska is rated as one of the states with the highest rape ratio in the USA : 1 of 3 female raped per day. Is this the same person who does not believe in abortion, not even for rape? No wonder her 17 yr old is pregnant and that poor boy getting he neck pop because it is her daughter. There probably a lot of unwanted children with no father in that state. Would the V.P spread her beliefs all over USA if she gets in?

Sarah Palin was briefed, briefed and briefed again, the posture was good leaning forward to show genuine interest, repeated first name terms with the interviewer. However, I felt she did not quite know what the “Bush Doctrine” is, and a torrent of words never explained it…she is a candidate for the Vice Presidency of America, not some ordinary Jane.

Perhaps most telling was when she said Russia launched an “unprovoked” attack against Georgia in South Oseitia, really!! when they had no right to.

Yet she states America has “a right” to cross the border into Pakistan without the permission of a friendly country – Pakistan – in pursuit of terrorists.

I am afraid the plot has been lost. If Obama is to lose, let us hope McCain has a presidency without illness.

Didn't the BU family watch that Sarah Palin interview on ABC with Charlie Gibson? We are sorry to say but this lady is clueless. To think that she has been selected to pander to the party evangelical base because McCain has alienated them at the expense of intellect. Whether a VP's role is ceremonial for the most part at minimum they should pick somebody who knows where to find Hawaii on the map.

Honest debate? You start.

Biden preaches and practices “strategic restraint.” It isn’t the other way around. I suggest you read more, and not just the blogs.

Reagan’s “proactive” policy, wasn’t. It was noise. The writing was already on the wall for the USSR.

Iran: You seem young not to remember what really happened as to how the Shah really came into power, and how he kept it. It was at best a temporary dictatorship funded by the US, surviving in the face of deep sectarian unrest. It had to be reconciled, and it is being reconciled historically though not in a very clean fashion. Our administration is handling it badly.

Biden knew more than anyone that once the US went into the Middle East, it would launch a 100 year war. Killing the fathers does not make for complacent sons. Hence his restraint. His position on Iraq is fundamentally the same, despite the bumps in the road, despite holes and mishandling of intelligence delivered to his subcommittee. His criticism of tactics and strategy has been continuous.
