May The King Of Pop Rest In Peace

The Thriller Album has sold the most copies in history.

The Thriller Album has sold the most copies in history.

The death of Michael Jackson yesterday brought home the realization that one of the greatest entertainers the world has ever seen was no more. Even for those who would not have been enamoured by his genre of music, gerri curls hair style which transformed to straight hair over the years, his eccentric behaviour which featured accusations of sexually molesting boys, all the negatives were forgotten when Michael Jackson the performer entered onto the stage.

To explain his eccentric lifestyle away from the stage many will cite his lack of a normal childhood combined with an undesirable father. His pre-teen performances as the lead singer, afro and all of the talented Jacksons 5 have created timeless and priceless memories for many. Music lovers may feel correct in believing the world may never see another entertainer in the same mould as the multi-talented Michael Jackson. The regard held globally for Michael Jackson can be judged when at the announcement of his death yesterday afternoon media houses around the world stopped regular programming to broadcast US news feeds of his passing.

BU would be dishonest if we did not highlight our disappointment with Michael Jackson through the years concerning how he neglected to use his iconic status to speak to issues of race. Some may say that his crossover appeal accounted in large part to his popularity. The question remains, could he have done more?

Michael Jackson despite his failings which only made him human has impacted people from all across the globe in a positive way. The genre of music, pop and R&B are known to appeal to its audience for a short time. Michael Jackson’s version of pop and R&B will live on.

May the King of Pop Rest in Peace.

David… I believe it was Stevie Wonder who performed ‘Ebony & Ivory’ with Paul McCartney.

Thanks MME for the correction, there is a duet which we want to highlight but cannot recall right at the minute.

Do we marvel at Monet’s interpretations of light upon water, or think about his tangled private life?

Brilliant, mould breaking entertainer, and that’s for which he should be remembered.

His art transcends the rumours of perversion, and that is the memory that will endure.

The BU household like many have followed Michael Jackson’s career through the years.

Now we hear about his addiction to prescription drugs.

    What are we missing?

    Why discuss now?

Michael Jackson was an outstanding Black person in his younger days.I grew up enjoying his music.I remembered partying to his music especially his album “Thriller” in the 1980’s.

I however became annoyed with Michael Jackson in his later turbulent years when he went through a transformation and denounced his blackness and tried to become white and to live a white life.

I lost all respect for Michael Jackson when he disrespected his African ancestry and adopted the the White man image. He became a total freak.

Michael Jackson is an unique person. He is the onliest person who was born as Black man and died as a White lady.

“all the negatives were forgotten when Michael Jackson the performer entered onto the stage.”

    **************

Dave, u may have forgotten them which does n’t prove the rest of us did!!

    ***************

“To explain his eccentric lifestyle away from the stage many will cite his lack of a normal childhood combined with an undesirable father”.

    *****************

Dave, wha proof do u or anybody else have that his dad was “an undesirable father”!! So, what if e cut e ****side every now and then. That was par for the course in our day!! If u ask me, Michael was just looking for sympathy when he made those remarks! The world would probably never have heard of The Jackson Five and Michael Jackson, if it was n’t for his father as I’m not aware of any particular interest in music being manifested by his mother! If it’s a black man then you can rest assured he’ll be criticised, sometimes, even by his own children, even after he’s succeeded in making them into untold-successes!! Watch out for other similar instances!! It’s gutless and degenerate and, the way this world is, no more than to be expected!!

    *****************

“The regard held globally for Michael Jackson can be judged when at the announcement of his death yesterday afternoon media houses around the world stopped regular programming to broadcast US news feeds of his passing”.

    *******************

Dave, to me dis is d biggest non-news-worthy event of the year, so far!! A man who was so ashamed of his black background, he even allegedly, dyed his skin, white!! I don’t believe the ’skin disease’ explanation, at all! Is that why he had facial surgery, too!! In fact, as a consequence, many will see him as a traitor to his race!!

I would prefer to know the price of flying-fish an snapper, in d Oistins fish-market!!

    *****************

“The question remains, could he have done more”?

    ****************

Dave, do u believe that, outside of music, he had a brain?!! Well, all I can say is that, I did n’t see much evidence of it!!

Dave, he wus an ‘odd-ball’, who hated himself, his own people and probably even his own family, for being black!! Do we need such ‘heros’ again!! You must decide!!!!

    Appearances are everything!!

  • General Lee // June 27, 2009 at 3:16 AM

Michael Jackson probably did more good, for at least two generations of black children than any jet black entertainer. He set the standard many aspire to but few ever reach.
Music lovers appreciated his music and accepted him for what he was. Most of us could only dream of possessing such talent.
While Thriller was his #1 album, Off The Wall, is my favourite and better IMHO.
    May he rest in peace.

Dave, I miss those smiley, likkle, round, yellow-faces which u used to have, years ago!! Can we have them back?!!

  • Yardbroom // June 27, 2009 at 6:47 AM

Michael Jackson, a great entertainer is with us no more; that he brought great joy to millions is beyond doubt. I do not know and perhaps never will, the reasons for what some consider his strange behaviour.

His alleged misdemeanours are only allegations, he was acquitted of wrong-doing in a court of Law.

Perhaps he was no more flawed that any of us, but he had the public’s microscopic examination of his life.

He came into this world as one of our own a – brother – and so he departs, no cosmetic hiatus can change that.

    May he rest in peace.

  • boredickey // June 27, 2009 at 7:07 AM

The big story to be told now should come from the undertaker. I want to know if wacko/Jacko died with all his potent physical apparatus ( his male weapon) in tact, or was the plumbing altered like other parts of his body?
I can’t imagine me being in his position and all these beautiful women like Diana Ross etc could pass my way and not excite my heads.
Having children through the use of a syringe. Now the bought silence of those boys – now adults – he allegedly played with will see new best seller books on Amazon. Lookout for the book deals.

  • Hopi // June 27, 2009 at 8:42 AM

@David……Come on man. Out of all the excellence put by Michael, this is the only piece you could find for a tribute, a bunch of chinese jailbird trannies? Dishonourable!

Anyhow, Michael is a perfect eg. of the evil dominance of the white world, one in which he constantly moved. Sad to see that he could not look at the MAN IN THE MIRROR and see a black man who should be proud of his melanin, because after all, it was that melanin that produced that rhythmic, musical genius, who will always be imitated but never duplicated. Too bad he could not find love with a sister.

The same evil white media which built him up also tore him down with ALL unproven allegations, some of which he was ill-advised to pay so that they would just go away and, and others which he RIGHTLY decided to stand up and fight against. This is the same media that NEVER covers the evil doings of those in “HIGH” places, the evil doings like child rape and eventual child sacrifice that is very prevalent in the political and religious echelons of this ‘civilized’ society. And on and on…..No ocean could cleanse the crimes from the hands of the ‘establishment.’

Too bad he had to conform to the point where he lost himself. No matter what you do or have ‘achieved’ they will NEVER love you because the beast knows no love. All it will do is temporarily accept you to vulturise and leech off you until there’s no more blood to be had. That’s the nature of the beast. The end of Michael reinforces my thinking everyday that the Black Man needs to separate from the white man. Despite the lies they spew from their media houses and their pulpits, we are two completely different creatures. [And the house negroes amongst us must stop aiding in our destruction by doing the devil's dirty work.]

They also took out another GREAT one, Bob Marley.

    The Ancestors await you.

    Hotep!

And in the meantime, let us not be distracted from the ‘real’ evils that’s being perpetrated upon Iran now by external forces, in order to destabalise it, so that they can ransack it like they did Iraq. Let’s not take our eyes off Pakistan and the fact the BaRat Obama had silently declared war on that sovereign nation. Let’s not take our eyes off the fact that they are still at war in Iraq, killing the innocents and calling it suicide bombings, while the western oil vultures have returned to their prey. Let’s not take our eyes off the fact that the whorehouse known as the US Congress is still whoring.

And to BaRat, they’ll use you and then throw you to the wolves like they do with all the other Blacks that they set in ‘HIGH’ places.

“Building church and university, deceiving the people continually, graduating thieves and murderers.”

Black people, let us awaken from our sleepless slumber, because we are in a constant state of war with this predator Beast!

    Hotep!

    OFF TOPIC

I am sorry to go off topic, but this morning around 3.00 a. m. I watched in horror as two houses were burned to the ground and another one severely damaged. This took place in Eagle Hall just behind the Roxy Supermarket.

One home was owned by a long time strong supporter of the DLP. Please help ALL the unfortunate people involved if you can.

Anyone who can help in anyway please call: 429-9507

Sorry David, but I don’t make those kind of excuses. As far as I can remember he was raised in church, which means his parents were trying to do the correct thing. Each one being an individual, he was one of the sickolas out there.
But he was a genius otherwise, don’t get me wrong.
So was Phil Spector and where is he today???????????
Let’s not let fame and fortune cloud our minds.

  • Themis // June 27, 2009 at 10:38 AM

David, the duet with Paul Mc Cartney was “The Girl Is Mine”. Some of the comments on this thread are so typically Black Barbadian. No black man can succeed without something being wrong with him or unless he has done something wrong. Everyone must be reduced to our level of non-achievement for us to feel happy.

  • Zoe // June 27, 2009 at 10:55 AM

There can be NO, may he ‘Rest in Peace’ unless, Jackson had a personal, redeeming relationship with Jesus Christ; just like Presley, ( a white man) who ended his life the same way, did the ‘white’ establishment do this to Elvis too? Did the ‘white’ beast also ruin all the others, Dean Martin, who ended us sitting in bars all alone, this utter nonsense about ‘Colour’ has no bearing on the ultimate destiny of either ‘Heaven’ or ‘Hell’ we decide that based on what we do, regardless of colour, Jesus is the only way, to ‘Rest in Peace”

  • David // June 27, 2009 at 10:58 AM

    @boredickey

You are entitled to your opinion but commonsense suggests that Michael Jackson had a turbulent childhood. The rest is history.

  • Sapidillo // June 27, 2009 at 11:25 AM

Siblings have different personalities and so they react and handle identical situations in different ways. To me, this was obvious in MJ’s case based on interviews which at times he seemed hesitant to talk about his upbringing. IMO, MJ was a child in a man’s body. He did not seem to get over his childhood abuse by his father, and like some other children did not let go even as he grew into manhood. Nonetheless, he was gifted enough to make music and entertainment his life. In recent years it seemed to me that he was an unhappy person and might have been for many reasons which may or may not be disclosed.

I believe that his musical legacy will without a doubt overshadow the allegations, controversies, etc.

    @199 // June 27, 2009 at 2:53 am
The forms of abuse by the Jackson’s father were not only mentioned by MJ. It was repeated over and over by siblings when asked at interviews. When the father was asked about the beatings and other allegations he never denied them; he would either be evasive or make an excuse. However, I do believe that most parents, be they from the Caribbean, USA, etc., during those days only knew of one way (their number one way) to discipline, and that was by beating their children. It is believed by some people that MJ’s father went beyond. Right or wrong, it’s all in the past. “Backward Never, Forward Ever.”

    @199 // June 27, 2009 at 2:53 am
You may be correct in your assumption that the world might not have known about the Jackson 5 or MJ had not for his father. But, I think had not for their talents, they would not have reached stardom.

    Food for thought… @ 199
Do you think there was exploitation of the children, especially of MJ by the father? Just curious of your reponse.

  • Sapidillo // June 27, 2009 at 11:40 AM

Btw, there is going to be many embellished stories all over the map, where some will be blown way out of proportion.

I think we should sieve through and compare what was reported throughout the years and what is being said since his passing.

I must add that if MJ had received some of the accolades during his life that are currently being spoken by many of his friends, etc., things might have been different and we would not be having the same discussion.

  • 199 // June 27, 2009 at 11:40 AM

Sapidillo, MJ strikes me as being an ungrateful little weirdo – ungrateful for all his dad did for him!! I don’t recall him moaning about his dad until his career reached its peak and he was on the way down!! Basically, probably a move to garner sympathy and boost his record sales!! Put it dis way Saph, ‘I in got a lot uh time fuh e, at all’!! Sang like an angel though!!

I am convinced that you are not serious about some of the comments you make. Could it be that you post looking for attention, to play devil’s advocate, or better yet to be controversial which at times could lead to healthy discussions.

Now, if I recall correctly, it was one of MJ’s sisters, I think LaToya (stand to be corrected on name) when interviewed by the media she spilled the beans of what went on while they were growing up; she is the one that brought the family’s inside life to light.

MJ in previous interviews did not rattle out the father; he mostly talked about his not being able to play outside or with other kids and about his singing and the entertainment field. Then in following interviews when he was pressed by the media which could have been because of his sister’s telling, he spoke more confirming his sister’s story. MJ speaking out about his father was NOT when “he was on his way down,” as you have stated.

  • 199 // June 27, 2009 at 1:34 PM

    Sap! Meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee???????????

Controversial?!!!! I would never dream of being such a ting!! Sap, did she/they accuse him of having sex wid dem?!! I doan tink so!! Did she/they accuse him of starving them?!! I doan tink so!! So, wha all d fuss is about?!! As I explained to you before, and you must know, if you’re Barbadian, a few slaps an a good cut-**s was par for the course for our black youngsters in those days!! People doan complain about being forced to take piano lessons, do they?!! but, a black man trains his children to be one of the greatest pop groups of all time whilst producing one of the greatest solo artists of all time and, all on a sudden, he’s a criminal!! Steupse, I caan listen to dem, man!!

As fuh de Latoya one!! Some fool mussee, sometime, lie tuh she an tell she dat she pretty!! It wus a lie!! Yuh heard anyting bout she ’singing’, recently?!! an dat, wus d udder lie!! dat she can sing!!

Sap, he would n’t uh wanted to play outside wid d udda kids, even if he’d been allowed!! I think he’d prefer to have stayed behind with his male dollies an played wid dem!! Doan listen tuh he, man!!

Sap, he was a successful, singing nutter!! Simple as dat, in my humble opinion!!

The death of Michael Jackson yesterday brought home the realization that it is appointed unto man once to die, and after death the judgement.

One of the greatest entertainers the world has ever seen is dead just like everyone else……..and he awaits his fate at the judgement! All the negatives will not at all been forgotten when Michael Jackson the performer enters the stage of the great white throne judgement. None of his exploits will help him now ye idolaters.
    .
His eccentric lifestyle away from the stage, his lack of a normal childhood, his pre-teen performances as the lead singer of the talented Jacksons 5 will be of no avail when he meets the judge, nor will he have timeless and priceless memories of that event, as he is sent to the lake, and the regard held globally for Michael Jackson will not matter one little hot ember then ye idolaters!.

Although music lovers may feel correct in believing the world may never see another entertainer in the same mould as the multi-talented Michael Jackson, and though this may be judged when at the announcement of his death yesterday afternoon media houses around the world stopped regular programming to broadcast US news feeds of his passing in a sickening frenzy of emotional idolatry, none of you worshipers at his throne can do one thing for his soul now. The devil got he, just like he got a lot of ye idolaters!..

Michael Jackson despite his failings which only made him human has impacted people from all across the globe in a positive way, and his father, the devil is very happy for the following he has…………… The devil got his idolatrous following too!. And he is laughing today..

Just as Michael Jackson’s version of pop and R&B will live on, so will he live for ever in the flames of hell. Despite the idolatry of the world, the king of Pop will rest in hell! Imagine that!

  • Right On // June 27, 2009 at 6:50 PM

    BEE-EL-ZEE-BUBBIE,

You are AB-SO-PO-LUTELY correct, if Jackson was allowed right now to speak right now, to all of his idolatrous fans back on earth, he would say, STOP IT, I’m in Hell, worship the Lord Jesus Christ and Him alone, for I AM IN Torment, with billions of other, White, Black, Brown, you name it, they are also here in eternal punishment, for rejecting God’s Love and Mercy in Jesus Christ.

  • Hopi // June 27, 2009 at 8:48 PM

@Georgie Porgie…..How are you my MELANIZED brother? Did you know that MELANIN is “The Black Chemical of Life?”

As an MD, you do know that Melanin is a photoreceptor and that it is prevalent in the inner ear, that it is critically involved in the hearing of sound and that it is higher in the inner ears of BLACKS than of Whites, hence Blacks hear better than Whites and they hear a wider range of sounds—-giving Blacks the ability to harmonize words, sounds and movement–which in MJ’s case was taken to a higher level–end result -GENIUS!

Can you name me one amelanotic that has produced music and exhibited genius in doing so.

  • Georgie Porgie // June 27, 2009 at 10:15 PM

Re Can you name me one amelanotic that has produced music and exhibited genius in doing so.

Handel Brahms Mozart etc were obviously geniuses, dont you think (some might say the Beatles)

Since you apparently think that melanin is critically involved in the hearing of sound and that it is higher in the inner ears of BLACKS than of Whites, how is it that deaf folk also make good music, and are excellent performers?

If your argument was sound, (pun intended) deaf people of any color ought not to be able to harmonize words, sounds and movement at ALL!

But I would be very keen to read the journals in Physiology, Pharmaology etc from whence you extracted these remakable scientific information.

  • 199 // June 28, 2009 at 1:55 AM

Hopi and George, what an amusing exchange, and good for the soul, and certainly more convincing than my ‘Baa Baa Black Sheep’ theory!! :)

Tech, in the ‘grand scheme of things’ it IS only a few minutes and always will be!! The man basically, was an irrelevance in importance to the development of the black race, indeed, further, he was an embarassment and a disgrace!!

My dear fellow, I would have u know that I’m one of the millions who had the ‘Thriller’ and ‘Off The Wall’ albums in my record collection at some point in the past but I’m not going to get carried-away with the man!! If he had n’t been so ashamed of his blackness, I’d still be a fan! Anyway, is n’t this a complete turn-around for u, the rasta-loving, loving all-things-black, black man, now to be supporting a man who clearly was ashamed of being black!! I’d have much more regard for him if he had n’t been so ashamed!!

Rihanna, with the help of god, will exceed his achievements!! Unfortunately, she’s temporarily been thrown-off-track by the idiot boyfriend of hers but hopefully, will return bigger and even better, although better would be pretty impossible for her because she’s already been consistently, absolutely brilliant!! May god bless her and show her the right path to take!!

Tech and others, in a simple illustration of his irrelevance!! : prior to his death, had u heard or seen any Michael Jackson videos recently?!! Answer: ‘No’!! Although, inspite of her problems, I still see videos of Rihanna on the box, regularly!! Elvis will always remain the bigger star! He’s sold more records than Jackson and was n’t a weirdo!

  • 199 // June 28, 2009 at 2:05 AM

Furthermore, the importance of MJ can be gleaned from the no. of people here who would rather discuss other issues than this one!! The man was an irrelevance, and only important to whites because he painted his skin, white!! A veritable waise of space!!

  • 199 // June 28, 2009 at 2:12 AM

Carry on smartly, 199, you are talking to yourself

  • 199 // June 28, 2009 at 7:57 AM

Jealousy and resentment is a sad thing, but, typically Barbadian, as I’ve found on these blogs! Would like to be the no.1 would u, Themis!! Be my guest!!

  • 199 // June 28, 2009 at 8:18 AM

Your criticism prompted me to take a look at your contribution, so far, and this is it!!

    **************

    Themis // June 27, 2009 at 10:38 am

David, the duet with Paul Mc Cartney was “The Girl Is Mine”. Some of the comments on this thread are so typically Black Barbadian. No black man can succeed without something being wrong with him or unless he has done something wrong. Everyone must be reduced to our level of non-achievement for us to feel happy.

    ***************

and what a jackass contribution it was too! Since my first responses, I’ve read a great deal more about Jackson and, it would be a saint who did n’t conclude he was insane, if not also, extremely evil!!

    I’ll never be a MJ a**-licker!!

  • freewilly // June 28, 2009 at 9:14 AM

freewilly, most people r talented in one way or another! See it in its true perspective, bro!!

  • Hopi // June 28, 2009 at 9:46 AM

@GP…….Again, as an MD, you should know that ALMOST all of life contains some degree of melanin, albeit, some at a HIGHER level than others. I’ve never referred to the caucasoid, nor the deaf as being amelonotic.

In MJ’s case, his harmonization of words, sound and movement was in the superlative..or in another realm. Can’t you give Jack[son] his jacket?

I can count the folk in that industry who impress me on one hand… both past and present and despite his [obvious confusion] he did impress me. He like millions of Blacks folk are confused simply because we live in a world where ‘whiteness/paleness/reduced melanin’ is the yardstick.

BTW….Do you know that his death was nothing more than a ritual sacrifice?!

  • Hopi // June 28, 2009 at 10:05 AM

One more question GP…..Do you think that MELANIN is of little significance to us ‘huemans?’

[Check that 'freewilly' video....do you see how he dances into the 'moon walk' and then goes right into a double 360...equilibrium.... in the ear.... while still being able to move without missing a beat].

  • 199 // June 28, 2009 at 12:18 PM

That’s the thing I like about Barbadians!! They’ve such refine manners!! – NOT!!

  • General Lee // June 28, 2009 at 12:38 PM

  • Georgie Porgie // June 28, 2009 at 2:11 PM

    Hopi

I have read all that you have said…..but can you give me some references to read so that I can be as enlightened as you are about melanin?

  • Right On // June 28, 2009 at 2:26 PM

Melanin or NO Melanin, Jackson gone to Hell, confirmed by that Guru Depack Chopa last night pun Larry King live, who said that Jackson had him spen a weekend with him, teaching to ‘Meditate’ on WHAT?

Cosmic consiousness, abstract nothingness, which then opens up the ‘mind’ soul to even more ‘Demons’ to come in and take further control, just waiting for the ‘Heart’ to fail one day, then INTO TO HELL, where Satan and his host torment you forever!

  • Georgie Porgie // June 28, 2009 at 2:30 PM

    Hopi
I must confess that I know very little about, nor did I care very much about MJ or his music. I have tended not to worship ANY man anywhere.

Today in the meeting as one brother reflected on the idolatry of the world at this time, one brother was moved to call the song immediately below, another brother called the Fanny Crosby song below that. I hope that these songs will be a blessing to many to day, as they think of the brevity of life and the lesson of Genesis 5- the obituary or grave yard chapter

If I gained the world, but lost the Savior,
Were my life worth living for a day?
Could my yearning heart find rest and comfort
In the things that soon must pass away?
If I gained the world, but lost the Savior,
Would my gain be worth the lifelong strife?
Are all earthly pleasures worth comparing
    For a moment with a Christ-filled life?

Had I wealth and love in fullest measure,
And a name revered both far and near,
Yet no hope beyond, no harbor waiting,
    Where my storm-tossed vessel I could steer;
If I gained the world, but lost the Savior,
Who endured the cross and died for me,
Could then all the world afford a refuge,
Whither, in my anguish, I might flee?

    O what emptiness!—without the Savior
’Mid the sins and sorrows here below!
And eternity, how dark without Him!
Only night and tears and endless woe!
What, though I might live without the Savior,
When I come to die, how would it be?
O to face the valley’s gloom without Him!
    And without Him all eternity!

O the joy of having all in Jesus!
What a balm the broken heart to heal!
Ne’er a sin so great, but He’ll forgive it,
Nor a sorrow that He does not feel!
If I have but Jesus, only Jesus,
Nothing else in all the world beside—
    O then everything is mine in Jesus;
For my needs and more He will provide.

Fanny Crosby was talking to one of her neighbors, who complained bitterly of his poverty. “If I had wealth I would be able to do just what I wish to do; and I would be able to make an appearance in the world.”

Fanny replied, “Well, take the world, but give me Jesus.” She was here inspired by her own words to write a hymn with that title.

Take the world, but give me Jesus,
    All its joys are but a name;
    But His love abideth ever,
    Through eternal years the same.

Take the world, but give me Jesus,
    Sweetest comfort of my soul;
With my Savior watching o’er me,
I can sing though billows roll.

Take the world, but give me Jesus,
    Let me view His constant smile;
    Then throughout my pilgrim journey
Light will cheer me all the while.

Take the world, but give me Jesus.
In His cross my trust shall be,
    Till, with clearer, brighter vision,
Face to face my Lord I see.

    Refrain
Oh, the height and depth of mercy!
Oh, the length and breadth of love!
    Oh, the fullness of redemption,
    Pledge of endless life above!

  • Right On // June 28, 2009 at 2:39 PM

Yes, Jackson’s death was a ‘ritual’ sacrifice to SATAN, who controlled his life from beginning to End, for he will give you fame and fortune, as he has done with White’s, Blacks, and every other Colour under the sun, BUT, one day the enemy of all of us, SATAN, unless, Christ is allowed in our lives, will take you into his kingdom, everlasting torment and eternal misery, in conscious existence, FOREVER.

Such is the price we pay for rejecting God’s Love extended to all of us in Jesus Christ!

M.J was a big artist and an eccentric peronality, probably with a lot of issues in his life.
One may been his skin and race, and he was rich enough(and mad) to do something with it.
The funny thing is that it is no whites in the world with a nose like he got, yes noone with that look.
I simply see it as a kind of art or decorating or trying to become something new.
He looked like a cartoonfigure or Peter Pan in the end of his carriere, and i think that is closer to the thruth, than that he was ashamed of his origins.

If a white person do so much plastic operations that he doesn`t look like himself at all, he is just tired of his look or wanna hide.
If a black person does the same,he is ashamed of being a negro…
I think we lay too much in this.

Let Michael rest in peace now and let us thank him for the joy and music he after all gave us through all the years.

But while Rihanna was born lightskinned and pretty-eye,(como el padre) I think that MJ was trying desperately be ‘white”. The MJ I grew up with (we share birthdays, only a year separate us either way) was born blackskinned and with a big broad nose and knotty hair. He changed his nose, chin and Lord knows what else. He seemed to hate the skin he was born in. That is most unfortunate. Money seems to make them crazy or foolish.
I smile too when I see Bajan girls looking all ‘white ‘ with their borrowed-hair and flinging it all over the place. They too are a sorry lot. And some seem to love it long long long like Rapunzel’s.
Bonny is a ‘bald-head” diva and de young fellas too love to call me, ‘my sexy bald head frien’. Some young enuff to be my children. (chuckle chuckle).

Answer:Socialist;I find blacks buying bleaching creams and false hair quite funny, but everyone can do what they want for me, if it makes them more happy and successfull in todays society.
If you read the earlier nonsence between me and 199, you will get a better understanding of the situation.
I think it is hypocratic myself to hazzle lay people, while famous blacks can manipulate their looks without any critics.
(When we see it from 199`s view…)

Yesterday i saw a photo of the Chris Brown-trial. Rihanna in conservative clothes and with her nice, sleek hair.
I was thinking, that maybe she was easier to see as a victim, the more “white” and conservative she looked?
Anyway, we come back to the old ,bajan colour hirarchy from slavetimes here, where “fakewhite” and black isnt as appealing to men as coloured women with a certain amount of white blood in them.
    Or am I wrong?
And what message do you think it sends to a ebony black, bajan woman; that she looks ridiculous with her anticurled or donkeyhair look and bleaching cream tratment, while Rihanna is beautiful, beautiful because she appearantly has a lot of irish blood?
    Is mulatto-women still more desireable
    for bajan men?

I’m not attempting to make excuses for Michael. He was entitled to do whatever he wanted with his body regardless of criticism or praise.

He may not have wanted to tolerate the initial white blotches on his skin which might have been spreading rapidly. Therefore, being in the public eye he may have sought quick treatment to make his skin one color. But, it also could have been a natural progression without treatment. Who knows?

A reporter with the same medical condition appeared on TV about a year ago talking about the disease. He showed viewers the make-up he uses and how he applies it to hide his skin. Maybe the technique he uses was too time consuming for Michael and with Michael’s resources at the time he choose the method that he felt was best.

Here is an article about the reporter having the same skin disease as Michael.

Technician seems to be ruffling your feathers. Dat is not like you at all. Wah happen man? You is a fella dat cud tek your licks howevva da come man. Tech only teasing you man.
I am not near Guyanese dawlin. I am 100% Bajan. My grandparents were mulatto so my mamma had kinky hair and all my siblings. I had hair all down my back but as the years passed I just opted to go bald. Not in one instance though, gradually. It is a lot less costly and time consuming. If you like, I can always don a wig. (anything for you, smooch).
Loving, caring, thoughtful, witty, gentle, responsible, committed, family-oriented, no yes-man,good dancer, jovial, generous are just a FEW of the things I look for in a man. I know that you are all of the above 199, my honeysuckle. (teehee)

Man, you want vista view….come home…when I open the window on mornings(if I shut them at night, that is) the first thing I feel is the cool trade winds, then I see the blue ocean, or golden as the sun rises, add to this the sweet sounds of birds in the many fruit trees singing at the break of dawn in chorus with the big chested rooster on the paling letting the whole district know it is morning…OMG!!
    Now THAT is a vista!!

Are you saying that folk who lived in Hell here on earth will all go to heaven? Or is this only true for entertainers?
    **************************************

No, what I am saying is that after suffering so much hell here on earth, no one should be subjected to another.

In fact, I do not believe in “Hell and Heaven”. I think it is how you live your life here that matters…. you make it a hell or a heaven.

I will believe in the unknown ones, when someone who has been there returns and tells me about it.

    J,

I’m not sure if anyone answered your question about the children, as I have not read all the above. What I can tell you is, that MJ IS NOT THE BIOLOGICAL FATHER OF ANY OF THOSE THREE KIDS.
All were conceived by aritificial insemenation by 2 different fathers (You can see that none of them look like Jackson- not even in their racial/genetic structure)

His fomer wife, Debbie Rowe was a temporary hired-hand who signed away all her rights to the children.

With these sudden, strange deaths of musical icons, one is tempted to ask: “Why?” or ” How come?”.

The research has been out for years…
Some of these artistes make pacts with Satan in exchange for money and fame.

Very often, they are gifted with extraordinary abilities; charismatic, and live eccentric sad lives.

Their lives are usually shortened; but some of them become more powerful in death than in life.

@ Pat and other ‘Don’t-believers’ that Heaven and Hell are both real places, there are quite a few books written by people who had ‘out-of-body’ real living experiences in both Hell and Heaven, no joke either.

Probably the best one is by Mary Baxter,
her two books are vivid accounts of her amazing experiences in Hell and Heaven, “Divine Revelation of Hell” and “Divine Revelation of Heaven” this is not fiction nor any attempt to sell books, plus there are a number of others, both Christian and non-Christian, all of which give the same kind of graphic experiences they had, mostly in Hell, before their ’spirits’ were allowed to return to their bodies.

There is one thing about black society and even bajans i have noticed, and that is that there seem not much room for the nutters of our society.
(I mean nutter in a positive way here)

The real nutters are often the people who inspire us, makes us wonder, and has courage to say what they mean and to change things.
I think we should accept the “nutters” as a part of a whole, instead of stepping on everyone who is different.
As a political black myself, when I came to Barbados first time, I thought i came to a open society that had learnt of their past.
Instead I was met with a lot of funny compliments because i wasnt behaving as a proper black. Or as a proper white. Or a proper woman. Or a proper family-memember attending church and all that stuff.

    Hey, 199…

    Ever heard of VITILIGO?

    Have you ever SEEN it?

That was what Michael Jackson had! It’s a disorder in which you LOSE pigmentation of the skin. That is why Michael had to go through a process to be ALL the pigment removed! What would you say if you saw a “spotted face” of brown & white up on stage? He had to become one smooth skin tone to keep his public image!

Google “Vitiligo” and you’ll see what I mean!

I know of at least two people here in Bim that have it, and the looks they get from other people on the road…well, I’d change my skin colour too to look “normal” if I got those looks!

“Turning white”, as you call it…hmmm…well, when you have all the pigment removed, what else will you turn, BLUE?

As for all his other “crimes”, he was found NOT GUILTY! If he WAS guilty at any point, then GOD will judge him!

And as to his other “eccentricties”, who are you to judge those either? Are you him? What if YOU were in that position, with that mentality? With that pressure? Could you deal with it? Maybe that’s WHY you’re not him. You wouldn’t be able to deal with it…

So look to yourself first BEFORE you presume on his life, or ANYONE’S life for that matter! God don’t like hypocrites…in any form or fashion. Just look to your own life, make it better, and try to help others instead of crying them down.

Blasted crab-in-a-barrel mentality…THAT’S what are keeping everyone down, REGARDLESS of colour!

Earlier on this blog, a commenter posted a link about a reporter having the same skin disease as Michael. http://www.usatoday.com/life/television/2007-12-16-vitiligo_N.htm

I read a story titled, “Jordan Chandler Admits He Lied about Michael Jackson,” which I found to be quite interesting and left me shocked to say the least. It was published at:
    http://www.hersbandandwife.com/blog/2009/06/27/jordan-chandler-admits-he-lied-about-michael-jackson/

    http://www.makli.com/jordan-chandler-admits-he-lied-about-michael-jackson/

I wonder if any of the journalists on public television or print media would ever mention or publish an article concerning the young man now in his 20’s who accused Michael of molestation and now recant his story saying “it was all lies” since Michael’s death.

I am of the opinion that such a revelation would not be viewed as authentic and taken seriously because it is not posted in major newspapers and/or online sites.

Maybe the article would only be considered trustworthy if the young man were to appear on National TV. However, there are people who would say the young man is being paid to come with that story. I find this to be disturbing; disturbing in more ways than one.

Let me add, if the story checks out to be true that the young man came forward to clear his conscience, (as many of us know, guilty conscience is a SOB), it should be a way that Michael’s family could recoup some of the money by having the young man’s father repay in some form or fashion.

Avatar Girl, I simply don’t believe the story about vitagligo or whaever it call! We never saw any evidence of it before he suddenly, changed his colour! I think the whole thing’s just a lie to deceive gullible, people like you!

As for judging him, I’m as qualified as any other ordinary member of the public to do so! Following from your argument, nobody would ever be able to judge anybody over anything, which is obviously, absolutely idiotic!!

Maybe u should also, take note of what ‘Anonymous’ said last night!
