I think it is pretty apparent by now that the DLP intends to kill the swamp/nature sanctuary one time and done. And whatever platitudes politicians might mouth about their desire to protect the environment etc. are just that – platitudes. The environment will never be allowed stand in the way of the high and mighty making a buck.
