A Barbadian man dies of cancer and BLP yardfowls are on the blog rejoicing and talking about “Karma”, etc. I hope that none of you or your family members ever experience the pain of cancer and that noone in Barbados celebrates your sickness and ultimate death.There was an outpouring of sincere love towards David Thompson for the many lives and people he touched personally and positively from old to young.

Been following your digging into the constitution. Right on all counts so far so no need from me. But, here’s the magic question taking Caswell’s scenario.

Would Estimates, which are scheduled and legally required by x date constitute an emergency “in the opinion of the Prime Minister”? If it does, it would have to be deemed an emergency entirely of the government’s own creation and one which could and should have been avoided.

Emergency (noun) – sudden unforeseen occurrence needing immediate action.

The key word here is unforeseen. To attempt to use this loophole to ensure the full 90 days would render the party and all who subscribe it to mass political suicide.

It now appears from a recent post from David that the house will be dissolved on Friday 25th January. That leaves the earliest date for the elections at 15th February; Right after the red enhanced Valentine’s day and near the beginning of Lent. Given that the Estimates and Appropriation Bills do not seem likely to be passed by Friday, why did’nt FS call the elections on Errol Barrow’s day, get whatever fillip in votes that might have brought and also obviate any possible criticism related to being the First Caribbean PM to actually go past the automatic statutory dissolution date for these elections. A theoretical if not a constitutional black mark. Was it really essential for the House and Senate to meet this week or even last week?

Is FS doing his thing only because he can and not because it is designed to garner the maximum votes for his party?

Help me here, please. My understanding of repentance is that one is to have sincere sorrow for all sins and transgressions that one may have committed against God’s Law. Now, a major undertaking of being repentant is that one would have to make RESTITUTION to those offended. Am I correct so far? So, that being the case, how is it possible for one to sufficiently make RESTITUTION to those so offended when one in at death’s door and literally being on one’s death-bed? Seems to me that one would need some time to make RESTITUTION. So, if that is correct does it not make a big joke out of this “death-bed” repentance belief or doctrine? Another point, my understanding is that the thief that was forgiven on the cross was allowed into “PARADISE” and not HEAVEN as so many denominations teach today. Correct my thinking if I am wrong, GP.

PARADISE was the place separated by a great ‘gulf’ fixed from Hell, (Luke 16:19-31) where OT saints and those like Lazarus (Luke 16) and the ‘thief’ on the cross next to Jesus went and remained UNTIL Jesus Ascension back to Heaven.

After Jesus’ Ascension back to Heaven, He them emptied ‘Paradise’ and took all those who were there, with Him to Heaven, now awaiting the Glorious day of Resurrection, when their conscious souls, now in heaven, will be reunited WITH, their never-to-die again, Glorified bodies.

The Gift of Eternal Life, deals with the Soul/spirit of man, whereas, the gift of ‘immortality’ deals with the ‘body’ of man.

Soul Sleep. The Bible does not teach that the soul is unconscious between physical death and the resurrection, as some believe.

The rich man in Luke 16:19-31 was certainly not unconscious in hell, and neither was Lazarus in Abraham’s bosom.

Jesus promised the thief on the cross that immediately after death, he would be in paradise (Luke 23:43).

Moses was dead (Deuteronomy 34:5), yet he appeared with Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration (Matthew 17:3). He was not unconscious.
Paul’s hope was that after death, he would be with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:23).

In Matthew 23:32, Jesus makes a very interesting statement. He was arguing with the Sadducees who did not believe in the resurrection. They asked him a question concerning the resurrection just to test him, and he answered it. Then he threw something back for them. Referring to when God appeared to Moses in the burning bush, God said, “I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob”. Jesus then commented that God is not the God of the dead, but of the living. This clearly implies that Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were not dead at the time God appeared to Moses. Yes their bodies were dead, but their souls were very much alive.

The figurative expression sleep used in the Bible always refers to the body and not the soul. The body dies and returns to the dust whereas the soul remains conscious and alive, but where?

Before Calvary

It was a common Jewish belief that after death, all disembodied spirits went to Sheol/Hades in the center of the earth. They believed that Hades was a 2-compartment abode consisting of a torture chamber for the unrighteous, and a place of bliss, paradise, for the righteous. Jesus seemed to have identified with that belief when He gave the story of the rich man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31). The rich man went to Hades, and Lazarus to Abraham’s bosom – which any Jew would have interpreted as paradise – and both were separated by an insurmountable gulf.

There are some who interpret the scriptures differently and conclude that the righteous souls went straight to heaven. But my question is, “On what Basis?” Jesus said, “no one comes to the Father, but by me” (John 14:6 RSV). Without the shed blood of Jesus, they had no basis for entering heaven to be with God. They had to remain in paradise until the fullness of time had come.

Where Did Jesus Go?

Immediately after Jesus died, His body was placed in a tomb and left there for 3 days, but His Soul went to Hades (Acts 2:27,31) in the center of the earth (Matthew 12:40). On the cross Jesus revealed that He was going to the paradise section of Hades (Luke 23:43) and not the torment section as some think. In Matthew 12:40 Jesus predicted that He was going to be in the heart of the earth for 3 days. This could not have referred to His body because ancient tombs were not 6 feet under as they are today. He could have only been speaking of His Soul.

There is evidence that Jesus did not ascend to heaven during those 3 days but instead remained in paradise all the while. On Resurrection Sunday He did not permit Mary to touch Him because He had not as yet ascended to the Father but was on His way there (John 20:17).

Afterwards He allowed the disciples to touch Him (John 20:27). It is clear that He only ascended to heaven after the resurrection and not before.

During the 3 days in paradise, the Bible reveals that He disarmed principalities and powers (Colossians 2:15), proclaimed victory over His enemies (1 Peter 3:18,19), and released the righteous saints from paradise (Ephesians 4:8). After His resurrection, most of them went to heaven with Him while some were raised to live again (Matthew 27:52,53).

The unrighteous dead in the torture chamber remained in Hades where they still are to this day.

But Now…

Since Jesus’ blood has already been shed, believers who die today go straight to heaven to be with God (2 Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:23). Paradise is no longer located at the center of the earth but in the 3rd heaven (2 Corinthians 12:2). Paul comforted the Thessalonians by assuring them that their saved loved ones who had died were with Jesus (1 Thessalonians 4:14). The unbelieving dead still go to Hades as before to await final judgment.

At the rapture the bodies of the dead in Christ are raised up incorruptible (1 Corinthians 15:52). They are reunited with their spirits and so shall they ever be with the Lord. The same fate awaits the tribulation saints

(Revelation 20:4). All the righteous saints reign with Christ as kings and priests during the Millenium. After the 1000 years, the unrighteous dead will be released from Hades (Revelation 20:13) to stand before the Great White Throne for official sentencing. From there they are cast – body and soul (Matthew 10:28) – into the lake of fire or eternal hell.

…Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. The second death has no power over them… (Revelation 20:6 NIV).

Now as a supporter of politics and political interaction. I ponder, is a new belief system taking root in Barbados…When u die do u then become holy?

Deloitte Consulting Inc. issued a statement in Feb 2012 regarding their recommendation to the Financial Services Commission. It was stated they advised the commission along with the appropriate government agencies to investigate ‘significant transactions’ as identified in the Forensic Report and pursue criminal and civil legal action…(which btw was agreed to by the court)

Further to this they also said a main goal was to investigate the “Amounts due from related companies” totalling a WHOPPING $370 million dollars up until the appointment of the judicial managers (dah is real nuff blenzers). The judiacial team was able to identify substantially all the inter company balances, but access to the documentation held by the related companies not subject to judicial management was needed to validate the transcations.

Whether Noel Lynch called him a thief while he alive or now he’s dead doesn’t change the truth laid bare for all to see by Deloitte Consulting inc…

There was stealing there and two names were at the top of that list and even if u choose to bury your head in the sand or tomb, the deceased et al had/have knowledge of what took place. 35,000 Bajans need to know because of the direct impact and as a society we all need to know who the villains are.

I hope the irony of this situation isn’t lost because in 2008 the same Thompson had a buhriffle of negatives to hurl at Lynch… and now when all is said and done he did lie cheat and steal!
