On Barack Obama’s Loss

President Barack Obama

Despite all my instincts, Bush Tea could not but admire the political brilliance of now President-Elect Barack Obama. No question that the gentleman – and above all else, that is the image that he managed to portray- succeeded in rising above the temptation to get down into the dirt with McCain and Palin. And he maintained an air of calm intelligence, wisdom and confidence.

During the debates, Obama confounded all his critics with the most powerful debating tactic in existence – humility, and respect for his opponent; thus destroying McCain -who staked his hopes on a battle hardened approach of relentless attack.

It was therefore no surprise to the Bush Tea when Obama went on to lose the election so convincingly on November 4. It serves him right, in my humble opinion….

Who in their right mind, living in the USA, speaks in terms of consensus, and of actually listening to the opinions of one’s enemies instead of “Shock and Awe”? Anyone really thinks that Obama could be serious?

What Obama What?!?! I too glad he lost!!!

The most depressing aspect of the whole campaign to the Bush Tea was the continued harping on Obama being this ‘Black’ candidate. Excuse me!!! The chap grew in a white home, with white mother, aunts, uncles, and friends. All his life he saw white people around -except on the few occasions that he passed by a mirror….

His father (the ‘black’ component) was a no-show. (Probably descended from the same stock that was destined for Barbados back in the days of slavery) all the while he was growing up…. And now suddenly the man is ‘BLACK’?

What Black What? I would say he is a permanently tanned white……But there is no question that he is brilliant, and smart, and smooth, and cool.. Which is why is am so dumbfounded that he could lose this election.

What Lose what?? You are asking?

Well what would you call inheriting the mother of all messes? What would you call spending hundreds of millions of dollars in order to get to take personal responsibility for a nation in decay? A nation trapped in two already-lost wars; in debt to the world -especially China; addicted to imported oil; and separated from its God?

What WINNING what?

McCain gets to go home (to any of his 14 houses); to go to the beach (if he is smart, here in Barbados); to sleep late; and to some extent, to have a life….. And HE is the loser?!!

People, give Bush Tea a break.

I know just what will be said two years from now when the USA hits rock bottom. I know who will be hated and who will get the blame for every problem. Even George Bush will join in the criticism and offer suggestions about what Obama should or should not have done or should be doing.

Then again this has been the norm for the USA. Just look at most of their large cities. In their glory days, Blacks could not buy a home in a good area, but in recent years we have noted that many of these cities- now reduced to decaying concrete jungles to be avoided at all costs – are run by -‘you know who’….

Bush Tea spent the last six months getting to know, like and admire Mr. Obama and praying for and wishing him well (i.e. that the USA would get the president that they deserved…in McCain)

My hope and prayer now is that I am completely wrong in my analysis of this ‘historic’ win and that somehow, Mr. Obama is indeed the savior that we all hope for and need…. But somehow, that hope is not computing…

I try desperately to point persons to Christianity but one thing for sure I have stop getting into arguments with persons. The decision is theirs, they are now on their own. I hope and prayer that before it is too late they would see thr truth.

I think you are finally coming around to appreciating the meaning of the word “respect”. I care not whether Christians “love” me as they claim to, what I demand from you is respect. You do not know any more than I do nor are you any more equal! The “truth” is that you guys are full of it.

  4. Bushtea,

My son asked me that same question. He was more than surprised. It is interesting reading. What a HISTORY!!!

    Carlos & Scout:

    Amen! Amen! Amen.

My next book is a Portrait of the Chinese by one Fraser. After that I may read one of my Churchills.

Obama and the national security question: the sellout accelerates

    by Justin Raimondo

Most politicians wait at least until they’ve been sworn in before they start breaking their campaign promises. In this sense, as in so many others, Barack Obama represents an entirely new phenomenon: the politician who preemptively reneges.

A recent Wall Street Journal piece describing the transition process as it relates to intelligence-gathering reveals we aren’t going to see much change in this vitally important realm, the one in which the Bush administration truly made its blackest mark. This will “create tension within the Democratic party,” we are told, apparently because even the worst party hacks will have a hard time going along with the revised Obama Doctrine on the issue of torture.

According to the Journal, Obama’s advisors on intelligence matters are “centrists” in the Clinton mold and outright Republicans, who favor torture “with oversight.” These, we are told, are the “pragmatists,” likely candidates for positions in Obama’s national security bureaucracy. “He’s going to take a very centrist approach to these issues,” avers Roger Cressey, who served as a counter-terrorism official under Clinton as well as Bush II.

It’s a grotesque commentary on the moral health of the nation when advocacy of torture is considered “centrist.” One shudders to imagine what it means to be right-of-center.

A big problem for the pro-torture faction of Team Obama, however, is their Leader’s pronouncements on this subject during the campaign, when he came out unequivocally against “‘enhanced interrogation techniques’ like simulated drowning that qualify as torture through any careful measure of the law or appeal to human decency.”

Human decency and government, however, are opposites in a dichotomy. Now that the Obama-ites have the power, all the pious rhetoric and self-righteousness of the Bush-hating Obama-loving “progressives” falls by the wayside, like so much confetti, to be swept up and trashed the morning after the election. It’s an old story, but true – and yet with a rather grotesque twist that is all too indicative of the age we live in.

  10. America will get exactly what it hoped for-change LOL. And the more things change, the more they will remain the same. Look at the persons being selected for cabinet positions–the Clinton entourage. Obama’s socialistic leaning will not benefit the country and will “change” it to what it has so despised the most–Cuba and the former USSR. Obama has talked on what he is going to do but has never done anything. He has blown hot air up Americans butts but they think it’s just global warming. The shortcomings by the Obama’s administration will be blamed on Bush even though the US will have and a Democratic President (elect), a Democratic Congress and a Democratic Senate. What Obama advocates for will be detrimental to the people who thinks will help them. How is that you can gain wealth by being dependent on the government for everything? He advocates for mandated “community service hours” (i.e. no pay) forcing people to work for the government. Bedsides the fact that slavery is illegal, it’s unconstitional (amendments 13, 14 and 15 US Constitution). But I guess some Blacks will feel better knowing that it’s the “Black man” who is advocating for putting them back on the plantation. Give the people what they want!
